With a one-map advantage coming from the upper bracket, Luminosity swept NoTag 3-0 to qualify for IEM Chicago (16-4 on Overpass and 16-7 on Cache).
The best-of-five grand final kicked off on NoTag's map pick, Overpass, where Luminosity's Henrique "HEN1" Teles and co. got off to a smooth 3-0 start as CTs. João "felps" Vasconcellos and his men stopped the streak with a win in the fourth round, but could not keep the pace on the T-side, as Luminosity secured ten out of eleven rounds to lead by 13-2 at halftime.
The second half saw NoTag come out swiftly to secure the CT pistol, but Luminosity fired back with two in a row, before trading rounds to eventually win the 16-4 map victory to take the series lead, 2-0.
The series then moved on to Cache, Luminosity's map pick, which saw NoTag win the pistol and the following anti-ecos for a clean 3-0 start. The streak ended when HEN1 and his men took the fourth round. The two sides the went back and forth, before Luminosity won nine in a row, ending the half with a 10-5 lead.
In the second half, NoTag got the better start by winning the pistol, but their parade quickly came down as the T side struck back with two rounds. In a blink of an eye, Marcelo "chelo" Cespedes and co. fired back to win their second of the half, but Luminosity wouldn't go down that easily and got their wits together on the T side to pick up four in a row, securing the series 3-0 for a spot at IEM Chicago 2018.
