After defeating Apeks in the semi-final of the Elisa Invitational, ENCE have secured a spot in the BLAST Premier Spring Europe Showdown.
In ENCE's debut tournament with Elias "Jamppi" Olkkonen, who they signed in April and expanded to a six-man roster, the Finnish team was flawless, winning five maps straight to advance to the BLAST Premier Spring Europe Showdown.
Aleksi "allu" Jalli was the main contributor to their success, averaging a 1.41 rating and 1.50 impact across the five maps played against Dignitas, GODSENT, and Apeks. With this result, ENCE will be competing with the likes of Astralis and Vitality in the BLAST Showdown on May 31 - June 7.
Ole "Marcelious" Kristian Langan's ace wrapped up Apeks' 3-0 start on the T-side of Nuke before allu picked up the AWP, immediately finding success. ENCE were back on track, 4-3, before another ace happened, this time by Kristian "akez" Kornbakk, and Apeks bounced back into the lead. The half continued in the same rythm, with ENCE ending it with a minimal advantage, 8-7.
With a 5-0 start on the T side (13-7), it seemed like Miikka "suNny" Kemppi and co. had things all wrapped up on Nuke, but Apeks didn't falter and after a B site retake, went on to chain six rounds on the defense. The score was equalized at 13-13 when a fast A site approach worked out for ENCE, ending the Norwegians' streak and seeing the Finns close out Nuke 16-13.
On Dust2, a 4-1 start for Apeks was swiftly turned around by ENCE, with Jamppi's quad kill round starting the Finnish team's comeback on the T side. They took the lead, 5-4, after an impressive round from their other young star, Jere "sergej" Salo, but were unable to end the half ahead as Apeks pulled ahead before switching to the T side (8-7).
Going aggressive in the early rounds of their CT side worked out perfectly for ENCE, who didn't give any breathing room to Apeks and ran up a 13-8 lead swiftly. Jani "Aerial" Jussila and Jamppi then resolved a 2v3, setting up ENCE for a perfect, 9-0 half, and a 2-0 series victory.
